There is a whole line of Amiibo dedicated to the new Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and in this article you can find out what their capabilities are, courtesy of Gamexplain.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild Amiibo
- Rider Link, which gives you a sword and a saddle for Epona, so this amiibo doesn’t change that much from the last one.
- Archer Link gives you a cool bow, and possibly other weapons too, but it is unknown as of now.
- Moving on, the Bokoblin amiibo also unlocks weapons and items, but seemingly only a couple of low tech clubs.
- Zelda unlocks unspecified rare equipment, so we can only guess what it is, but surely the guys at Nintendo have a nice surprise waiting for us.
- Finally, the Guardian (the tentacled enemy which we saw in the very first teaser), has some of the most awesome and rare weapons and items, including something that resembles crafting items and ‘anti-Guardian arrows’.
Also, a thing which is rarely talked about is that the Wolf Link amiibo which was made for Twilight Princess also has an effect on Breath Of The Wild, which allows you as a player to spawn a wolf who can help you out in-game. This feature is also available as a part of the normal game, it’s just that the amiibo skins it as wolf Link.
Speaking of other amiibos, outside of these new ones, you can also obtain older ones. Nintendo also released in December four amiibos that aren’t related to the Breath Of The Wild, but they are compatible with the newest game in the franchise, though their offerings are minor, and they don’t offer more than just some airdrop of supplies.
More Amiibo Goddies
The quartet consist of the Ocarina of Rime Link, which sends you meat, The Wind Waker Link, which provides fish, The Wind Waker Zelda who drops plants, and an 8-bit Link who grants you barrels who have rupees in them.
All of these items will be available for the players who don’t purchase the amiibos. They will simply have to unlock them some time later during their playtime.
The last fact about this release, and the most interesting one for conspirators out there, is that the back of the amiibo packaging shows and has instructions about how the figurines work with Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, but not the Switch. Though this being the case, Nintendo has confirmed that upcoming 
Switch console supports amiibo compatibility.
For a game that is hyped up to be one of the best ever, and at least the best of this generation, you have to ask yourself, do these statues offer any extra value to the product, or should they be avoided. One thing is sure, for true Zelda fans, and even people who aren’t, these little statues are still pretty awesome and a good conversation point to add to your gaming collection.
